      The Defender

      •          You are looking at Anthony Fasanos of the Miami Dolphins 1985 Defender It's a 1985 110 that I helped design and build out. The AC is from Vintage Air and is the upgraded system they have for full size Land Cruisers, it works great and keeps it cold here in Florida. The heating is all still fully functional. We reinforced the floor bracings and added more bracings knowing there would be football players in the back. We used 1/4 inch aluminum on floors seat boxes and condenser cover which is the dog house in between the seats. All the walls are oak, covered in a quality leather looking vinyl. We also used heavy duty sound deadening material on every flat surface and 1/2 inch padding to create a quiet interior and keep the cabin insulated to hold the cold air in.The seats are modern land Rover seats we recovered in diamond stitch suede and leather. We powder coated all the diamond plate and used aircraft rivots to reinstall. Tinted all the glass with Sunpro film to keep the UVs and heat out, the stereo is a state of the art touchscreen system. The clutch was just serviced. The defender is owned by Anthony Fasano of the Miami Dolphins, he said he would personalize the Defender with jerseys, footballs, pictures with you himself and the Defender if you wanted. At the time of the build this was the only 85 110 with AC.
